Wolf Hall

This book is slow. S.L.O.W. I’m very interested in the subject matter: Henry the VIII and Thomas Cromwell at the time of the reformation. But for some reason, the writing actually puts me to sleep. And I’m the girl who stays up late reading compelling stories.

That said, it’s still pretty cool to peek into the life of a super smart guy who made his way into the inner circle of a fascinating and infamous king at a time in history when everything was changing. I’ve gained a better understanding of the players and relationships involved both at court and not, so I’m glad I read the book.

But I must say, I wish it was a page turner. I’m not saying don’t read it, just know what to expect when you pick it up. It’s one of those books you may find yourself not enjoying, but afterward admitting you are glad that you did. That said, 2 out of 5 stars.

If you dare, you can grab a copy here. 🙂
